Sadly the former News Editor and founder of this voluntary FMS Global News service, Rick Usher, a very good friend of mine, died suddenly last December, at the tender age of 52. He was at his computer doing what he loved best – writing music – when tragedy struck. His death is a great loss to his family, the fibromyalgia community and me.
Rick had FMS and was a great guy who wanted to change the face of fibromyalgia with his news services and more recently his music. He had a record label and was downloading music he had written – all to raise funds for research for FMS both in the USA and the UK.
He had asked me in September 2008 to take over the FMSGlobalNews, but I went on holiday, and we did not tie up the loose ends. I am doing my best to carry on his good work and hope the articles I am publishing are of interest to you, Rick’s readers. If you have any comments I will be pleased to hear them, as I am keen to do what Rick would have wanted me to do. His work must carry on as we both believed education helped folk to manage their fibromyalgia, while raising awareness.
I am a journalist with FMS of some 30 years experience and hope I can continue to provide the service you have come to expect. Contact me with your news on fmsglobalnews@me.com. Please I need your help to carry on Rick’s work. Thanks. Jeanne
